RailMate™ Transition Car
RailMate custom transition car is designed for safe, easy handling for both railroad and truck transportation operators.
The unique Bi-Directional feature eliminates the need to have a crane lift the transition car off the rail and turn it around for connecting to the end of a freight train or a locomotive.
Pushed or pulled by a locomotive or other motive power, the transition car is moved under the front of the first trailer which glides up the loading ramps enabling the trailer kingpin to connect securely into the fifth wheel. The trailer landing gear is raised and locked. The air lines are secured and tested readying RailMate for rail transport.
