RailMate™ Rail Bogie

Custom RailMate over-the-road trailers are uniquely designed to receive a RailMate Rail Bogie. Using tractor air pump over hydraulics, the rail bogie is lifted off the ground 5-1/2" and transported to a railroad siding where it is lowered onto the rail. Once the rail bogie is locked into rail position, the trailer wheels are lifted, tucked and locked.

RailMate uses a standard Holland 5th wheel trailer hitch with double locking features to securely connect subsequent RailMate trailers. The last trailer attached to the train consist is connected to a RailMate transition car which uses a standard rail coupler to connect to the end of a freight train or the locomotive.

Once the train has reached its destination, any number of RailMate trailers can be removed from the rail by reversing the loading operation.
